THE VOICE OF MARIE BRIZARD LIQUEURS
The recent Marie Brizard The Art of Flavour live sessions have hosted bartenders from all corners of the country. They dived into the deep knowledge of liqueurs as delivered by the charming, very French Mr. Loïc Rakotomala (Global Brand Ambassador for Marie Brizard).
We know that most cocktail bars are champions of whisky, rum, gin and aperitifs. So, when it comes to a range of liqueurs, the buzz kind of needs a little colour which isn’t in short supply thankfully with this story (Accept the photos). And to be fair to Loic, he delivers this message in a way that has anyone attending captivated and drawn into the story of liqueurs. From it’s rich history to the hidden secrets, he explained (in French English) key aspects of liqueur production as started in Bordeaux France, how it grew to be so dominant and also how the production process hasn’t changed in over 300 years.
Backing up the Art of Flavour live sessions in Sydney was Kate McGraw(The Flavour Queen). We saw Elderflower Spritz as the drink of choice from her cameo appearance while the rest of the Ladies of the Cocktail including, Serena O’Callaghan in Melbourne, Billie-jean Bray from The Gresham in Brisbane and Elise Godwin from The Dominion in Perth will all sling the guests liqueur cocktails before and after the live face to face sessions.
But what if this was just your inspiration, your ‘ahh ha’ moment in realising that a range of liqueurs can really bring value to a back bar? We suggest you bite off a chunk of knowledge and digest it before making the leap. The Fine Drinks Movement have a Liqueurs Education free for bartenders and it’s online, check it out: https://finedrinksmovement.com.au/…/liqueurs-cocktail-bart…/
